UI Art For Minecraft Earth
Minecraft Earth is an augmented reality game for mobile that lets you bring Minecraft into the real world! As a 2D/3D Generalist on the Minecraft Earth team, I was involved in many aspects in the art of Minecraft Earth, and I was lucky enough to work side by side with the awesome UI Art team, and aided in creating a few bits of UI art for the game.
Mob Reward Screen
My favorite and earliest UI Art task was in combo with an animation task of mine! I aided in prototyping a reward screen specifically for Minecraft Earth mob tappables (mobs on the in game map that you could tap and collect!) I created the prototype, as well as mob animations for this. Background by Peter Scheff, and final FX by Peter Scheff and Lisa Hazen!
Minecraft mob icons
One of my main tasks, as a standard part of the pipeline for Minecraft Earth Mobs, was to create mob icons! Our senior UI artist (Michael Neumann) and senior artist (Peter Scheff) worked together to create a style that became our icon standard, as well as a photoshop script to help speed the process along. From there, I aided in creating icons for many of the mobs, including for all mobs I made, and later on created the documentation for the icon creation process.

Misc Ui art tasks
As a 3D Generalist on the team, I didn't always get to be involved with UI Art, but I excitedly was able to still take on UI Art tasks when I could! I helped our UI artists with small miscellaneous tasks at times, like creating sample animations in the mob icon style, for potential loading bars! Or tweaking existing screens for re-use in the future. Either way, it was a fantastic learning experience and helped expand my knowledge working alongside Minecraft Earth's amazing UI Art team.
